Reflection:

Experience:
Throughout the whole journey I've been through, it was an amazing experience getting a chance to study all the things about typography. I never thought that there are so many things to consider when designing. This module really developed me to be more creative and able to learn what is a good composition looks like. I was being trained and formed to be a professional designer by my lecturer. Throughout this semester, I was really being guided by Mr. Vinod and Mr. Shamsul where I am always on the right track and able to manage and cope up with the lesson even though it was a tough module. I was never left and my lecturer will make sure all the students follow his lesson so that no one will miss out. The feedback that were given by my lecturer really help me to come up with so many ideas whenever I am stuck. I learnt so many things in this module, I got a chance to design my own font, and even learn to write using calligraphy pen. Aside from that, I was introduced to different software so that I will be familiarize and have the knowledge of most of the software used by a designer. Having this module as part as my course was an exciting experience, I always look forward to receive a feedback from my lecturer so that wider ideas I can gain from them. However, i hate the fact that I need to think again and this time harder and make some changes that will please the lecturers’ eyes.

Observation:
From what I observed throughout my first semester is that making a lot of changes after the feedback was a very tiring thing to do because I was forced to think and come up with another idea. However, in the end I was really satisfied with my outcome. I realize that the feedback really help me a lot in creating a good composition as well as the overall look of my design. Other thing aside from this, I always think for every project that was introduced is that I can’t make it and it’s an impossible thing to do such as creating my own font or creating my own book especially with just a very short time span given. But as day passed by, I come to think that everything is possible if I have the willing to do it and willing to learn. As the semester has come to an end I look back that, I survive even though I always think that it’s impossible to finish all the project given where I really have no knowledge about the module.

Findings:
I learnt that we all who will be designers in the future need to be trained to think critically and explore more ideas, try to avoid with a limited ideas because it won’t do good. The outcome of the design will not look interesting and attractive. Furthermore, to achieve something great we need to work hard for it and think smart. As I am still learning like everyone do, we need to be open to any suggestion, opinion, criticism and above all learn from the mistake that we did.
