Matte Painting IDEAS:
As everyone in class has difficulty in coming up with an idea, Mr. Kannan gave us a task to come up with 5 different theme of matte painting - just the blockouts to get a rough ideas.
For my selected theme of matte painting I was thinking to have like a forest and waterfall. I was inspired and got some idea from the jungle book environment. On the ninth wee of class, Mr. Kannan help us to draw the rough ideas.
Final Outcome:

Fig. 1.1. Second matte painting - Cave |
Fig. 1.2. Third matte painting - Witch Forest |
Fig. 1.3. Forth matte painting - Castle in an island |
Fig. 1.4. Fifth matte painting - Forest Adventure |
Fig. 2. Rough painting of my idea |
Final Outcome:
In this second project, I learnt how to make use of camera angle to layer each of the images I separated in photoshop. Aside from that I learnt that patience is the key to make this matte painting especially when I bring it to after effects and make sure of the camera movement. Doing this matte painting is fun especially edit and paint it in photoshop.
The difficulty that I found is that coming making the edges smooth enough to be believable also playing with the camera movement. A lot of practice and patience is the key to a good outcome with a believable look and feel.
